Overview:
The Chaplain Sitter offers prompt spiritual assistance and emotional comfort to patients in need of distress relief across various aspects of their well-being.
This is a relief/as needed position. The location can and will vary as this is a system-wide position which includes Moses Cone, Wesley Long, Annie Penn, and Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Responsibilities:
Gives personalized and hands-on emotional and spiritual assistance to individuals in need.
Offers temporary caregiving assistance to individuals lacking the means to arrange for such support.
Regular communication and collaboration are upheld with the referring chaplain, the assistant director of Spiritual Care and Counseling, and the unit chaplain as necessary.
Conveys crucial details to the nurse caring for the patient and offers insights for the treatment strategy.
Record all patient discussions and interactions promptly.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
