Job Description

Overview:

Working within the Nurse Technician Observer Float System Wide setup means providing support to Registered Nurses through monitoring and documenting patient conditions. With close supervision, individuals in this role assist patients in advancing their mobility and aiding in daily tasks as required. The primary emphasis is on aiding in the development of a secure environment for patients at risk of suicide or self-harm.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting patients in their day-to-day activities, like meal assistance, personal grooming, and progressive movement to assist in their recuperation and treatment arrangement.
  • Evaluates patients' quality of life concerning nutrition, hydration, and elimination to facilitate the distribution of resources and forecast patient requirements.
  • Handles patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to shift them to the correct settings in line with the care plan.
  • Assists patients with their elimination needs by offering services such as ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters for a more comfortable care experience.
  • Assisting in the supervision of unit inventories for supplies and equipment is vital for promoting a hygienic and safe atmosphere as outlined by the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Double-checks that patients identified as fall risks are outfitted with the correct wristbands, socks, and notifications to maximize their physical security.
  • Completes additional tasks as instructed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Nurse Aide I, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
