Job Description
Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospital supports the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in a hospital setting to provide high-quality patient care. Working under close supervision, this role develops and implements hospital-based care plans and prepares equipment for procedures across the organization's hospital systems.
Responsibilities:
Aiding the care team means gathering patient history and medical details to guarantee accurate case documentation is maintained in hospital medical records.
Supports the creation and implementation of care schemes as directed by the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to address the requirements of patients undergoing treatment in a hospital.
Affirms the conformance to Cone Health policies on sterile environments by practicing appropriate safety measures and techniques.
Delivering health care instructions to patients and families in a clear manner is essential for effective care plan execution.
Contributes to handling emergencies and safety challenges by utilizing personal protective equipment and following hospital protocols to mitigate harm to patients.
Carries out any other duties as demanded.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
