Job Description
In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician Plus 3 is involved in observing and documenting patient conditions while providing physical assistance with daily activities and encouraging patient mobility under supervision.
Essential Job Function:
- Aids individuals in handling their daily living activities, such as meal assistance, personal hygiene support, and advancing their ability to move progressively to aid in their recovery and care arrangement.
- Evaluates patients' well-being by considering their nutrition, hydration, and elimination processes to effectively manage resources and anticipate patient care requirements.
- Supervises the process of moving patients to different destinations that correspond with their healthcare plans.
- Helps patients with their elimination needs by managing ostomies, administering enemas, and utilizing condom catheters to offer them comfortable and effective care.
- Facilitates the organization of unit inventories for supplies and equipment to sustain a hygienic and safe environment as per the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Making sure that patients susceptible to falls are equipped with the correct armbands, socks, and alerts to guarantee their physical protection.
- Executes additional responsibilities as directed.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: 6 months of related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Nurse Aide Certification required.
