Job Description
The duties of a Registered Nurse RN Dialysis Staff involve delivering specific nursing services to patients undergoing dialysis therapy. Based in a dialysis clinic, this position collaborates with medical teams to offer thorough care, monitor patients during treatments, and ensure adherence to dialysis protocols for the well-being of patients.
Essential Job Function:
- Watches over and evaluates patients' vital signals and general state of health during dialysis sessions to confirm the treatment's safety and effectiveness.
- Manages the distribution of prescribed medications and therapies, such as heparin administration and fluid supervision, for individuals receiving dialysis treatment.
- Maintains and operates dialysis equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning correctly for every session.
- Engages with interdisciplinary groups to devise and carry out holistic care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.
- Informing patients and their families about the dialysis process, self-care techniques, and dietary restrictions is important in improving outcomes and quality of life.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Education:
- Required: Associate's Degree in NursingPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience:
- Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
