Job Description
In the acute care setting, the Clinical Pharmacist II plays a crucial role in both clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the proper dispensing of medications while also offering clinical expertise to support patient care. This position involves monitoring and evaluating medication therapies, ensuring their appropriateness for individual patients, and coordinating with nursing staff to provide education and support.
Essential Job Function:
- Deciphers and complies with doctor's orders to provide accurate healthcare to the right recipient.
- Manages and validates the processing of prescription requests, packaging, and delivery.
- Delivers and supervises pharmaceutical-driven protocols, drug usage, and medication-related details to healthcare providers, patients, and the community.
- Supervises pharmacy technicians.
- Precepts students.
- Teams up with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to maximize the effectiveness of medication therapy while maintaining patient safety.
- Executes further responsibilities as needed or designated.
Education:
- Required: Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharm.
Experience:
- Required: 3 years.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Pharmacist in NC within 60 days of hire. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
