Job Description
The Clinical Informatics Specialist 1 at an entry level will focus on enhancing their skills in organizing, merging, and evaluating clinical procedures within Health System Health System by utilizing clinical technology, process planning, and research data to enhance patient care, efficiency, and economic objectives. The individual will cooperate in enhancing the design and execution of technology to enhance the experiences and care quality for patients, team members, and providers at Health System. This position actively takes part in adhering to national guidelines, professional fields, and provider discussions. The primary concentration is on surgical/procedural workflows and EPIC functionalities. HYBRID scheduling - Capable of working in-person for one to two weeks each month.
Essential Job Function:
- Supports informatics work within a designated department or service as an individual contributor, aiding in the coordination of development and operations activities.
- Supports the implementation of EMRs and fosters connections with both in-house and external healthcare providers to encourage the integration of technology and adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Ensures that the IT systems are created in a way that aligns with the clinical objectives of delivering dependable healthcare and creating a smooth interaction for both patients and providers.
- Takes part in clinical and operational enhancement groups to create and improve clinical designs, needs, and processes.
- Takes part in recording designs, needs, and processes and converting them into guidelines for the IT department.
- Assists in obtaining stakeholder and governance endorsement for these designs within the SL or unit.
- Engages in safety efforts and enforces precautionary actions to reduce risks according to job specifications, maintaining adherence to relevant standards.
- Plays a role in producing and upholding knowledge repository entries and/or technical and procedural documents as required.
- Acts as a bridge connecting healthcare providers, medical professionals, and IT management.
- Collaborates within the company to ensure standards are met, drive change initiatives, and enhance the growth of informatics capabilities.
- Participation in creating and presenting educational materials and training sessions for both in-house and external medical professionals, as well as support personnel and colleagues, could be required.
Education:
- Required: A minimum of a Bachelor degree including but not limited to nurse, therapist, health administration, public health, social services. Clinical training and licensure as appropriate to clinical background and state requirements
Experience
- Required: One year of experience in clinical informatics and Epic Clinical Applications One year of experience in a complex healthcare setting Aware of and developing in their knowledge and experience of relevant regulatory requirements, such as HITECH, HIPAA Privacy & Security and other CMS regulations and guidelines. In-depth knowledge of clinical practice, health care administration; patient safety; information and clinical management. Developing in skills required to support the build and management of data systems and the ability to analyze complex data sets to address clinical, operational, and personnel management issues Developing in change management, project management skills, including financial and budget management, scheduling and resource management. Experience in one or more area of quality improvement and IT methodologies. Agile, LEAN, product, Agil, ITIL
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Licensure in the state if required by the state board. Some manner of Quality, safety or process improvement certification (examples: Agile, LEAN) or similar comparable experience. Preferred: Board certification or degree in Clinical Informatics certification or degree. If a physician, a board certification from a specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association. Epic certificationsClinical Advanced Certification (RN, PharmD, etc.)
