Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospital supports the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in a hospital setting to provide high-quality patient care. Working under close supervision, this role develops and implements hospital-based care plans and prepares equipment for procedures across the organization's hospital systems.
Essential Job Function:
- Assists in compiling patient history and medical data to ensure thorough case documentation in hospital records.
- Assists in the creation and execution of care plans under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or healthcare professional to meet the needs of individuals being treated at the hospital.
- Adheres to Cone Health guidelines for sterile environments by practicing proper techniques and observing safety precautions.
- Imparts healthcare guidance to patients and their families in a manner that ensures comprehension and adherence to the care plan.
- Supports in managing emergencies and safety hazards by using personal protective gear and hospital safety procedures to avoid patient harm.
- Manages other duties as required.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
Experience:
- Required: None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
