Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospital supports the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in a hospital setting to provide high-quality patient care. Working under close supervision, this role develops and implements hospital-based care plans and prepares equipment for procedures across the organization's hospital systems.
Essential Job Function:
- Aids the care team by gathering patient background and medical information for comprehensive case documentation in hospital records.
- Supports in developing and implementing care plans as directed by the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to cater to the needs of patients undergoing treatment in a hospital setting.
- Implements safety precautions and proper techniques in line with Cone Health policies to maintain sterile environments.
- Delivers health care instructions to patients and families to promote a clear understanding of the care plan.
- Contributes to addressing emergencies and safety threats by applying personal protective equipment and healthcare precautions to prevent patient harm.
- Takes on extra assignments as needed.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
Experience:
- Required: None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
