Job Description
The Nursing Technician Plus 3 assists the Registered Nurse by monitoring and recording patient conditions. Under close supervision, this role provides patient support through mobility activities and help with daily tasks as required.
Essential Job Function
- Assists patients with everyday activities such as eating, personal hygiene, and gradual mobility to promote recovery and follow the care plan.
- Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
- Coordinates patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure they are placed in the appropriate settings according to their care plan.
- Assists with patient elimination needs, including ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to provide comfortable care for patients.
- Assists in managing unit supplies and equipment to support a clean, safe environment in line with National Patient Safety Goals.
- Checks that fall risk patients have the appropriate armbands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
- Carries out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 6 months of related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Nurse Aide Certification required.
