Job Description
The Occupational Therapist II undertakes evaluations of patients' conditions, devises, arranges, and engages in rehabilitative programs aimed at aiding the restoration of optimal functional abilities, enhancing mobility, alleviating pain, increasing strength, and reducing or preventing deformities of individuals affected by ailments or injuries, alongside providing education to patients and their relatives. This therapist facilitates communication among team members from diverse backgrounds, approaches familiar patients with confidence, and acts as an advocate for both patients and the team. Essential Job Function
- Offers treatment for a wide range of diagnoses and patients with complex healthcare needs.
- Examines patients' physical condition, medical background, and functional constraints to establish customized therapy programs.
- Conducts therapeutic exercises and other occupational therapy strategies to help enhance patients' physical strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Offers guidance to patients and their families about treatment plans, home-based physical activities, and self-monitoring techniques to advance healing.
- Engages in teamwork to design and carry out discharge plans and suggestions for ongoing care, possibly relying on guidance and input from other members of the team.
- Monitors and registers patients' improvement, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions to facilitate necessary modifications to treatment plans.
- Teams up with departments from diverse areas to ensure synchronized patient care and holistic treatment consequences.
- Plays a role in guiding and instructing new personnel, illustrating an enduring dedication to elevating the proficiency and capabilities of coworkers.
- Executes supplementary tasks as instructed.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
