Job Description
The primary function of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to deliver exceptional patient care and ensure positive patient outcomes through the compassionate and efficient application of nursing knowledge. Under general supervision, this role promotes professional nursing practice by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and collaborating with diverse healthcare professionals.
Essential Job Function:
- Evaluates the requirements and circumstances of patients in the designated unit to provide nursing care that is specialized and directly addresses the unique needs of each individual.
- Reviews patient details, comprising medical records, diagnostic results, and current health status, to formulate specific nursing care plans.
- Implements nursing actions, such as medication dispensing and treatment execution, to offer comprehensive and valuable patient care.
- Ensures the accuracy and compliance of medical documents with regulatory requirements and organizational policies through reconciliation processes.
- Analyzes the patient's response to interventions and determines any extra measures needed to fulfill the defined care goals.
- Partners with interdisciplinary care providers to design holistic care plans for patients.
- Executes additional duties as instructed.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse.
- Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
