Job Description
Overview:
The RN Expeditor serves as a key figure in facilitating the seamless progression of patients, identifying and resolving barriers that hinder prompt medical attention, and staying proactive in identifying potential challenges for thorough assessment. Through their contributions, the quality of patient care within the healthcare system is continuously elevated, ensuring that individuals receive swift and effective interventions to support their recuperation process. This position underscores the significance of maintaining heightened awareness through active communication practices and harnessing technological tools for improved efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Uses expertise in healthcare systems, patient needs, and available resources to help patients navigate their healthcare journey, ensuring they have access to essential services and support.
Assists in expediting, prioritizing, coordinating, and managing clinical issues in real-time, eliminating discharge barriers and addressing care delays efficiently; identifies potential concerns to help staff prioritize patient care activities and discharges, preventing bottlenecks before they arise.
Consults with multidisciplinary teams to devise effective plans to decrease the length of a patient's stay, handle complex discharge procedures, conditional discharge mandates, and relevant issues in order to ensure patients are safely discharged.
Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.

Required:
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 5 years Clinical Experience as a Registered Nurse with minimum of 3 years RN experience in the related field of Expediter role (Emergency, PCU/ICU, Procedural Area ) (Procedural i.e., PACU, Short Stay, Endoscopy)
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
