Overview:
The job involves working in the field of sleep medicine at Lebauer Pulmonary Care on a full-time, outpatient basis as a salaried employee.
Responsibilities:
Education and Training:Stays up-to-date and maintains professional competency by engaging with literature and attending local and national conferences. Involves in various educational activities such as patient education, staff training, and professional development programs. Engages in educational and research initiatives, including didactic materials, formal teaching sessions, clinical instruction, staff education meetings, and clinical research projects.
Collaborates with professional colleagues and helps establish connections with potential patient referrals. Ensures that referring doctors are updated on patient's progress and treatment results.
Patient Care: Offers both hands-on and behind-the-scenes support to patients within designated zones. Supervises the interdisciplinary group, overseeing residents and medical students as they carry out their responsibilities. Engages in relevant clinical studies and ensures precise and punctual recording and approval of patient care for the maintenance of current billing records.
Professional Standards: Adheres to the established professional guidelines of MCHS, such as the Medical Staff By-Laws, commitments to Service Excellence, practice protocols, physician requirements, and standards for professional appearance. Operates in accordance with the core values, mission, and vision set forth by MCHS. Displays cooperative and courteous interactions with coworkers, patients, team members, family members, and guests. Respects the principles of the Socratic Oath, protects patient privacy, and demonstrates ethical conduct consistently. Aligns actions with the objectives and benchmarks of MCHS to support their accomplishment.
Participating in medical audits, quality enhancement initiatives, investigations, peer assessments, and other relevant evaluations concerning professional care standards is essential. Offering medical oversight and guidance to the diverse team in place to maximize the well-being of every patient. Guaranteeing adherence to secure operational standards and compliance with regulations is a priority.
Quality Enhancement: Strives for consistent enhancements and implementation of proven strategies aimed at achieving superior healthcare and service (with results reaching or surpassing the 90th percentile). Adheres to record-keeping protocols aligned with MCHS policies, relevant laws, and standards. Contributes to shaping clinical protocols, processes, initiatives, and offers suggestions for refining the quality and effectiveness of healthcare. Collaborates in the distribution of designated on-call duties with fellow physicians in the designated departments.

Required:
Practitioner must have completed the number of years in a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and met all other requirements for eligibility to receive board certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in the primary medical specialty (or subspecialty) for which the Practitioner is applying for Clinical Privileges. If five (5) or more years have elapsed since the Practitioner completed such residency program, the Practitioner currently must have board-certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in such specialty (or subspecialty).
Fully licensed to practice Medicine in the state of NC.
Meets requirements of the Moses Cone Health System Medical Staff by-laws and obtains the appropriate level of medical staff privileges.
The Practitioner must have a current, and valid DEA registration number, with no involuntary limitations on prescriptive authority (schedule limitations) resulting from DEA disciplinary actions.
Each Practitioner shall maintain in force professional liability insurance as determined by the Moses Cone Health System Medical Executive Committee and Board of Trustees; currently $1 million each incident and each occurrence, and $3 million aggregate. The Practitioner must provide proof of professional liability insurance coverage, with a current certificate of insurance or a current copy of the policy. The professional liability insurance coverage shall be with a company approved by the North Carolina Insurance Commission and otherwise satisfactory to the Board of Trustees.
