Job Description
Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist Weekend Option conducts medical imaging procedures, such as X-rays, to create visual depictions of targeted body regions for diagnostic evaluation. The resultant images are interpreted by a medical professional for disease diagnosis and monitoring. Operating under supervision, individuals in this capacity prepare patients for scans, adjust their positioning, oversee equipment operation, and apply their knowledge to minimize patient radiation exposure. A weekend option is offered, necessitating employees to fulfill WEO obligations and undertake two shifts during the stipulated period for an increased remuneration.
Responsibilities:
- Abides by the recommendations of physicians regarding the body area in need of imaging.
- Provides information to the patient about the procedure and responds to their queries to help ease their anxiety and enhance their awareness of the procedure.
- Ensures the patient is properly placed and sets up the imaging tools at the designated angles to generate precise images of specific body parts.
- Averts unnecessary radiation exposure for healthcare workers and patients alike.
- Conforming to the correct techniques and protocols, such as implementing patient shielding measures, is necessary to uphold the accuracy and trustworthiness of diagnostic imaging services.
- Performs the mandatory paperwork for each medical process to guarantee accurate patient documentation and support clear communication within the healthcare team.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
ARRT (R); Radiologic Technologist - DxBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
