Job Description
Under the supervision of the general management, the Congregational Nurse aids in bridging health and wellness discrepancies in a clinical setup to benefit the wider community. This role prioritizes the improvement of health and well-being for congregations and society by facilitating the accessibility of both physical and spiritual healthcare.
Essential Job Function:
- Aids community members in locating a primary care physician to help them access essential healthcare.
- Provides support for the welfare of individuals by delivering one-on-one health counseling for the formation of tailored care programs.
- Recognizing the differences in health outcomes, such as issues related to transportation, housing, and nutrition, is essential in finding solutions to help individuals improve their health status.
- Enhancing knowledge and awareness among members is achieved through education on disease prevention and management, medications, and the healthcare system.
- Coordinate health screening initiatives, community fairs, and influenza vaccination clinics to enhance public health and combat illnesses in the local area.
- Performs assessments and examinations including monitoring blood pressure and glucose levels to discover potential health concerns for care.
- Delivers spiritual aid through prayer and active listening to nurture a comprehensive approach to well-being.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 5 years of clinical experience in a health care setting.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
