Overview:

The Senior Product Manager for Value-Based Care oversees the conceptualization, deployment, and management of digital health solutions aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, providing support for care teams and care transformation efforts, streamlining operational processes, and enabling the adoption of value-based reimbursement models. This role necessitates the capacity to lead groundbreaking innovation endeavors and collaborate effectively with internal departments such as clinical, operational, and technical teams, as well as oversee external partnerships and engage with contracted entities to ensure compliance with organizational objectives and industry guidelines. Utilizing agile principles, this role merges a progressive product vision with a practical execution strategy and a continuous improvement ethos to optimize patient care experiences and facilitate the healthcare system's progression towards value-based care frameworks. Situated within the Value-Based Care Institute (VBCI) products and analytics team, this position functions with restricted supervision.

Responsibilities:

Product Management

  • Supervise the conceptualization, enhancement, and implementation of virtual health tools, ensuring they fulfill our criteria for the user involvement, are expandable, and assist in our care paradigm and our clinical, operational, and financial targets.
  • Supervise the entire process of developing and implementing digital health solutions, ensuring they are in sync with broader strategies, value-focused care, and programs dedicated to enhancing the health of the population.
  • Encourage the participation of subject matter experts and stakeholders in the processes of product development and delivery management.
  • Guide the design, progression, and preservation of value-centric care handbooks in partnership with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Create and deliver educational programs focusing on the proper use of digital health solutions.

Operational Oversight

  • Tailor digital health solutions to meet the operational needs of value-based care objectives, prioritizing the support of the care model in a range of population health programs.
  • Verify that digital health innovations are compliant with regulations and aligned with best practices prevalent in the industry.
  • Employ data and analytics to oversee product performance, aiming for continuous enhancement in outcomes and efficiency.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to check that digital health products fulfill our corporate needs. Team up with clinical leaders, specifically provider advocates (employed and independent providers/practice teams), clinical informatics experts, care management and population health teams, health insurance providers, and patient experience teams to ensure that digital health solutions, population health management system workflows, and data analytics are congruent with and bolster care delivery and our value-based care model. Take charge of fostering innovation in the care model through supervision of digital health products.
  • Engage with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to identify and prioritize features and functionalities that are in line with the business's priorities
  • Work closely with IT teams and external vendors to ensure smooth operations of digital health products and shared services, including activities related to identity verification, security protocols, and regular maintenance
  • Engage in partnerships with information security, compliance, and privacy teams to manage and monitor data access, aiming to ensure the safe and appropriate utilization of protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII), particularly with regards to accessing solutions within the clinically integrated network and collaborating with external entities.
  • Head and engage in the vendor screening processes as a few product evolution undertakings will need cooperation with third-party services.

Technology and Systems Management

  • Participate in the selection, implementation, and optimization of digital health platforms, tools, and systems.
  • Ensure solutions governance policies and processes are followed and participate in governance related activities.
  • Remain current on emerging technologies and digital health solutions to enhance the organization's capabilities.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Minimum of 7 years of experience. A bachelor?s degree is considered to meet 3 years of experience; a master?s degree is considered to meet an additional 1 year of experience, and a doctorate degree is considered to meet an additional 2 years of experience. Other relevant formal training in product development and healthcare operations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications:

  • Formal training or work experience in healthcare industry, product managers from consumer and retail may be considered.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and passion to improve the health outcomes of the communities we serve.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation through a product mindset, culture, and matrix-organizational structure.
  • Success in managing digital products from concept to launch
  • Experience with agile development, human-centered design, and digital transformation
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis to non-technical leaders and decision-makers including verbally, in writing, and through effective visualizations.
  • Ability to engage with technical teams.
  • Genuine curiosity to dive deep into operational workflows and engage with stakeholders to design better solutions.
  • Deep commitment to continuous learning as part of a cross-functional team that includes clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, value-based care, population health, and applicable regulatory frameworks including knowledge of value-based enterprise agreements
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and clinical operations as they relate to value-based care and population health
