Overview:
Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician is tasked with observing and documenting patient conditions. This position includes assisting patients with daily tasks and encouraging mobility as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Assists individuals with daily tasks like meal preparation, self-care, and enhancing mobility to help them recover and follow their care plan effectively.
- Evaluates the impact of nutrition, hydration, and excretion on the general welfare of patients to effectively plan for and meet their specific needs.
- Facilitates the admission, transfer, and discharge process of patients to ensure they are appropriately placed as per the care plan.
- Assists in clinical tasks by overseeing blood glucose levels, documenting key vital signs, conducting EKG tests, applying restraints, and tending to toileting needs to fulfill patients' care requirements effectively.
- Supports in controlling unit inventories of supplies and healthcare equipment to guarantee a clean and safe ambiance in compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Checking that the arm bands, socks, and signage required for patients at risk of falling are available is essential for ensuring their physical safety.
- Aids in documenting all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use to preserve a detailed patient history.
- Acts promptly on instructions from registered nurses and shares patient observations to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Engages in other duties as directed.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
