Job Description
The Computed Tomography Technologist Weekend Option requires individuals to possess a strong background in CT procedures and patient care. This position involves the utilization of specialized x-ray technology for capturing detailed images of anatomical structures, aiding in the accurate diagnosis of a broad range of medical conditions. Participants in the Weekend Option are obliged to fulfill the WEO criteria and undertake two shifts during the weekend interval, receiving additional compensation for their commitment.
Essential Job Function
- Operates scanners that use x-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images of the head or body, commonly referred to as a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan.
- Carries out standard and specialized CT examinations according to established protocols to reduce the need for additional imaging and control radiation dosage, all while ensuring that exam efficiency aligns with predetermined standards.
- Effectively handles all tests and paperwork within the realm of Computerized Health Records (CHR) and Radiology Imaging Management System (RIMS), correctly pinpointing all costs related to procedures and rectifying inaccuracies to maintain a streamlined process.
- The aim is to inform and equip patients for their examinations to increase their comprehension and compliance during testing, ultimately creating a positive experience for the patient.
- Displays a strong commitment to prioritizing safety measures, fostering a culture of learning from mistakes, and striving to minimize risks through ALARA principles for better patient outcomes.
- Executes any other tasks that are requested.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
Experience Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Will accept any of the following licenses:ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT)NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT)Combination of ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) or CNMT and ARRT(CT)Combination of ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT) or ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT)BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
