Job Description
The Nurse Aide Certified role engages in assessing patient care demands to administer fitting and productive care. With little supervision in regular circumstances, this position documents patient care specifics, executes suggestions, manages patient care tasks, and ensures precise record-keeping.
Essential Job Function:
- Keeps track of and notifies the Registered Nurse of any shifts in patient signs and conduct to facilitate modifications to the care program.
- Reacting to verbal and non-verbal cues from psychiatric patients is essential for showing understanding and fulfilling their needs through communication.
- Conducts group education for patients.
- Performs delegated patient care duties as directed by a Registered Nurse such as monitoring vital signs, checking capillary blood glucose levels, conducting EKG tests, transferring patients using a wheelchair/stretcher (without EKG monitoring), assisting with bathing, turning, and repositioning patients, aiding in patient mobility, and supporting with toileting needs.
- Executes any other responsibilities as instructed.
Education:
- Required: High school graduate or equivalent Completion of a state approved Nurse Aide 1 training.
Experience:
- Required: None.
- Preferred: 1 year experience as a nursing assistant.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Successfully complete BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider within 30 days of hire date. Current good standing with the NC Nurse Aide Registry verified through DFS https://www.ncnar.org/verify_listings1.jsp. Must have reliable transportation with adequate insurance as determined by the organization. Valid NC Driver's License and current automobile insurance.
