Job Description
This role involves assisting in the provision of initiatives and services that aim to cultivate and uphold conducive and secure work atmospheres for workers. Operating under direct oversight, the Occupational Health Nurse is dedicated to advancing and reinstating fitness, warding off ailments and accidents, and safeguarding employees from work-related and environmental perils within the corporation.
Essential Job Function:
- Aiding in the analysis of the employee population's necessities and determining primary, secondary, and tertiary preventive approaches alongside health promotion tactics to enhance overall health and minimize the occurrence of injuries and illnesses.
- Notifies examinations, therapies, results, vocational and functional capacity, evaluations, and educational provisions effectively.
- Offers assistance with health screenings and health appraisals (including post-employment physical examinations, wellness assessments, audiometric tests, vision checks, bloodborne pathogen exposure response, and drug screenings) to detect and track potential health threats to employees.
- Implements incentives and informative tools to foster employee health promotion and wellness.
- Shares pertinent health-related data with the organization in a timely and professional fashion, encompassing information regarding work-related injuries, return to work progress, laboratory test results, and drug screen findings.
- Manages employee health records effectively to adhere to departmental, organizational, and legal standards.
- Upholds the confidentiality of employee healthcare information and records.
- Executes any other assigned responsibilities.
Education:
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- No prior experience required.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
