Job Description
Overview:
The Clinical Practice Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) delivers exceptional care and assistance in various clinical scenarios. Operating independently, this position ensures the provision of high-quality specialized patient care and contributes to the strategic advancement of healthcare initiatives within that specific service line. Specialized Care is limited to office-based settings and covers disciplines like Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in Community Care Clinic, Wound Care, and Patient Care Clinic settings.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates patient needs and medical conditions in specific clinical settings to administer nursing care effectively and ensure the delivery of precise treatment for every individual.
Reviews patient records, diagnostic information, and existing health status to create customized nursing care plans.
Nurses are tasked with preparing and overseeing various nursing processes, including the administration of medications and the management of vascular access devices, to ensure high-quality patient care.
Dispenses medications and treatments, adheres to established procedures and recommendations for the secure administration of toxic and non-toxic substances, with the overarching goal of promoting the safety of both patients and staff members.
Validates medical records to guarantee alignment with regulations and internal policies, enhancing accuracy and compliance.
Examines patient reactions to interventions and pinpoints additional measures necessary to achieve specified care goals.
Engages with a variety of disciplines within the care team to enhance care plan effectiveness.
Functions as a skilled source of information and counselor, delivering direction, knowledge, and assistance to coworkers and employees to encourage a climate of constant growth.
Executes any other responsibilities given.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 1 year as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
Preferred:
Certification in Specialty eligible within 1 year of hire
