Job Description
Under supervision, the Endoscopy Technician aids in the setup of equipment and supplies in procedure rooms, as well as in the proper upkeep of endoscopes and related equipment based on manufacturer specifications. This role involves working closely with the nurse and physician during procedures, providing essential devices required for interventions, and adhering to guidelines for disinfection and maintenance of endoscopes and equipment as per the manufacturer's recommendations.
Essential Job Function:
- Assists the nurse and physician in arranging protocols and managing room changes to maintain the readiness of rooms for endoscopic procedures.
- Performs cleaning and maintenance tasks on instruments, like endoscopes, to signal readiness for surgical operations and address any equipment malfunctions as required.
- Keeps a close watch on patients to assist with their needs and inform healthcare providers of any developments.
- Responsible for answering phone queries at the hospital and ensuring accurate transmission of messages and details to the relevant individuals.
- Aid patients in using the restroom, changing clothes, and moving to different hospital locations.
- Retrieves samples of bodily fluids from patients to contribute to scientific investigation.
- Executes tasks as directed by superiors.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Preferred: 1 year
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
