Job Description
The evaluation of patients' conditions and the development of rehabilitative strategies to support their recovery and improve functionality are central tasks for an Occupational Therapist. By focusing on enhancing mobility, alleviating discomfort, boosting strength, and preventing deformities for patients impacted by illness or injury, this role also involves educating both patients and their families. Monitoring and appraising outcomes related to both assessment and care plans are integral aspects of the role. Occupational Therapist I necessitates guidance and support to carry out essential job functions proficiently.
Essential Job Function:
- Aids in the examination of individuals' physical capacities, medical past, and constraints in functionality for the formulation of tailored intervention plans.
- Delivers interventions such as therapeutic exercises to aid patients in improving their physical strength, flexibility, and mobility as part of occupational therapy treatments.
- Teaches patients and their families about therapy plans, exercises for home, and skills for self-care to enhance recuperation outcomes.
- Engages in collaboration with others to develop and put into effect discharge plans and suggestions for ongoing care, occasionally seeking guidance from fellow team members.
- Keeps track of patients' development, treatment effectiveness, and reactions to interventions in order to make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Collaborates with teams from diverse departments to ensure synchronized patient care and comprehensive treatment effectiveness.
- Executes any other responsibilities given.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Experience:
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
