Cone Health - Urgent Care at MedCenter Mebane is in need of a vibrant Physician to fill a full-time role, preferably someone who appreciates working in shifts and prioritizes exceptional patient satisfaction, care quality, and value.

Responsibilities:
Education and Training: Stays up-to-date and competent by using literature and engaging in regional and national conferences. Takes part in various educational programs for patients, staff, and professionals. Involvement in educational and research initiatives such as didactic content, teaching sessions, staff education meetings, and clinical research help maintain proficiency.
Liaison: Engages in liaison responsibilities with fellow professional colleagues and in establishing sources for patient referrals. Maintains referring physicians updated on patient care and results.
Delivering patient care directly and indirectly in designated areas is a key responsibility, including overseeing the interdisciplinary team and guiding residents and medical students in their tasks.
Professional Standards: Adheres to MCHS professional guidelines, such as the Medical Staff By-Laws and practice standards, while embodying Service Excellence commitments and physician expectations. Aligns actions with MCHS Mission, Vision, and Values, fostering positive relationships with coworkers, patients, and visitors. Respects patient confidentiality and upholds integrity, contributing to the overall objectives of MCHS.
Participating in medical audits and quality improvement initiatives is essential, as well as contributing to investigations and peer reviews concerning professional care standards. Offering medical oversight and guidance to the interdisciplinary team is crucial to optimize patient outcomes. Upholding safe practice guidelines and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements are key responsibilities.
Quality Enhancement: Actively seeks enhancements and implements evidence-based strategies to strive for superior healthcare and services, aiming for results ranking in the top 10%. Adheres to MCHS policies, legal requirements, and rules in record-keeping practices. Collaborates in crafting clinical standards, protocols, initiatives, and offers suggestions for enhancing care quality and effectiveness. Divides assigned on-call duties with fellow physicians for specified periods.

Required:
Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board. Also medical degrees from other countries that are equivalent to the United States MD or DO degrees from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.

Practitioner must have completed the number of years in a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and met all other requirements for eligibility to receive board certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in the primary medical specialty (or subspecialty) for which the Practitioner is applying for Clinical Privileges. If five (5) or more years have elapsed since the Practitioner completed such residency program, the Practitioner currently must have board-certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in such specialty (or subspecialty).
Fully licensed to practice Medicine in the state of NC.
Meets requirements of the Moses Cone Health System Medical Staff by-laws and obtains the appropriate level of medical staff privileges.
The Practitioner must have a current, and valid DEA registration number, with no involuntary limitations on prescriptive authority (schedule limitations) resulting from DEA disciplinary actions.
Each Practitioner shall maintain in force professional liability insurance as determined by the Moses Cone Health System Medical Executive Committee and Board of Trustees; currently $1 million each incident and each occurrence, and $3 million aggregate. The Practitioner must provide proof of professional liability insurance coverage, with a current certificate of insurance or a current copy of the policy. The professional liability insurance coverage shall be with a company approved by the North Carolina Insurance Commission and otherwise satisfactory to the Board of Trustees.
