Overview
The role of the Registered Nurse is to provide high-quality patient care by implementing nursing knowledge in an effective and empathetic manner. As a critical member of the healthcare team, the RN collaborates with colleagues to deliver coordinated care and promotes best nursing practices.
Responsibilities
To ensure that patients receive the best possible care, the nursing staff must assess each patient's needs and condition before providing care on the assigned unit.
Provides personalized nursing care plans by analyzing patients' medical histories and diagnostic results, ensuring all their healthcare needs are met.
Conducts nursing interventions, such as dispensing prescribed medications and facilitating healing therapies to provide holistic patient care.
Ensures that medical records are complete and adhere to industry regulations and organizational policies.
Evaluates the efficacy of interventions on patients and pinpoints any further interventions needed to fulfill predetermined care targets.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary specialists to ensure optimal care delivery.
Completes assignments as instructed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate's Degree
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE:
Candidates must have practiced as a Registered Nurse for at least 12 months
Prospective candidates must have one year of experience in a defined clinical specialty as established by ANCC or national nursing organizations
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
This license allows RNs to provide comprehensive care to patients and work in various healthcare settings in North Carolina or other Compact states
Ultimately, the choice between taking the BLS-CPR course offered by the American Red Cross or the Healthcare Provider course offered by the AHA will depend on your specific needs and goals, such as whether you work in healthcare or simply want to be prepared for emergencies in everyday life
