Overview:
The Congregational Nurse works within a clinic setting to address health and wellness discrepancies in the community, offering support under minimal supervision. The primary objective is to enhance the well-being of both congregations and the wider community by providing a combination of physical and spiritual healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
Supports individuals within the community to locate a primary care physician, facilitating their connection to healthcare services.
Assists members in enhancing their well-being by offering personal health counseling for the creation of individualized care strategies.
Identifying health differences, such as transportation, housing, and nutrition, to address obstacles hindering individuals from enhancing their own well-being.
Enhances the understanding and awareness of individuals regarding disease prevention, management, medications, and healthcare systems through educational initiatives.
Plan and coordinate health screenings, fairs, and flu clinics to promote community wellness by lowering the incidence of diseases.
Conducts evaluations and screenings like checking blood pressure and monitoring blood sugar levels to detect possible health issues for intervention.
Offers spiritual support by engaging in prayer and attentive listening to promote a well-rounded way of life.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
