Job Description
Overview:
The duties of a Registered Nurse (RN) involve delivering quality patient care and ensuring favorable patient outcomes by applying nursing knowledge with compassion and efficiency. Operating under general oversight, this position promotes professional nursing practice by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and collaboration with various healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
Assesses the needs and health status of patients in the assigned unit to provide nursing care that is suitable for each patient, aiming for optimal and personalized care delivery.
Studies patient information, which includes medical records, test results, and current health status, to devise individualized nursing care plans.
Implements nursing procedures like medication delivery and therapies to provide thorough and impactful patient support.
Checks medical records for accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Analyzes the patient's response to treatments and identifies any further interventions needed to reach the defined goals of care.
Participates in interdisciplinary teamwork to enhance the quality of care planning.
Completes tasks as designated by superiors.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 1 year as a Registered Nurse
Preferred:
- 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
