Overview:
The Nurse Technician Observer Float System Wide works alongside Registered Nurses, keeping an eye on patient status and recording their findings, while supporting patient mobility and assisting with daily tasks as necessary. This position is especially crucial in creating a safe environment for patients prone to self-harm or suicidal thoughts.

System Wide positions have a very high level of patient safety and personal accountability focus due to the vast majority of work with patients in acute mental health situations. We need highly compassionate and good communicators, in addition to a strong level of hospital based and/or behavioral health based work experience.
Responsibilities:
Helps patients with their daily living needs, including food, hygiene, and physical mobility, to support in their healing and care plan.
In order to allocate resources effectively and predict the needs of patients, an assessment of their quality of life concerning nutrition, hydration, and elimination is conducted.
The movement of patients to the appropriate areas, in line with the care plan, involves admitting, transferring, or discharging them.
Assists patients with their excretion needs, which includes managing ostomies, administering enemas, and placing condom catheters for a more relaxed experience.
Monitoring unit supplies and equipment is vital to maintain a clean and secure atmosphere that is in line with the National Patient Safety Goals.
It is important to check whether patients with a high risk of falling have been equipped with appropriate arm bands, socks, and signage to guarantee their safety.
Executes any other tasks given.
