Job Description
An RN's central duty is to provide excellent patient care and secure positive patient outcomes through the caring and efficient application of nursing expertise. Under general oversight, this role advances the standards of professional nursing by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and collaboration with various healthcare disciplines.
Essential Job Function:
- Examines patient needs and conditions within the designated unit to ensure the delivery of nursing care that is personalized and effective.
- Assesses patient data, which includes medical backgrounds, test results, and current health conditions, to establish individualized nursing care plans.
- Carries out nursing tasks such as medication delivery and treatments to provide optimal patient care.
- Confirms medical records are accurate and compliant with both regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Analyzes the patient's response to interventions and recognizes the need for additional interventions to fulfill defined care goals.
- Participates in interdisciplinary teamwork to ensure well-coordinated care plans.
- Completes other assignments as instructed.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse.
- Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
