Job Description
As a Nursing Secretary - Monitor Technician NT, the primary duty is to assist the Registered Nurse with basic care and administrative tasks. This entails closely monitoring cardiac rhythms and promptly communicating any variations to the Registered Nurse.
Essential Job Function:
- Provides assistance to individuals in daily grooming and hygiene routines to assist with their healing process.
- Carries out hourly rounds to meticulously attend to the needs of each patient on the unit, aiming to anticipate needs and promptly provide assistance as required.
- Aiding the Registered Nurse by tracking vital signs and alerting them promptly to any shifts or patterns.
- Refills supplies and tools to enable seamless daily activities within the unit.
- Offering food and supplements to patients to secure their nutritional needs align with the care plan.
- Adequate identification and supervision of patients with a high risk of falling play a key role in preventing potential harm.
- Maintains patient records, such as logs and markers, to promote effective and detailed correspondence with doctors and nurses.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as designated.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of Cone Health's Basic EKG class within 3 months of hire.
Experience:
- Required: None
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Good standing as Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Division of Facilities Services. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
