Job Description
A Physical Therapist evaluates the conditions of patients, develops personalized treatment plans, and applies therapeutic interventions to enhance functional abilities. This function involves working closely with patients, directing them through exercises and techniques to enhance mobility, strength, and flexibility. The Physical Therapist also educates patients on preventing injuries, offers strategies for managing pain, and tracks progress during the treatment process. Monitoring and assessing outcomes relating to the evaluation and care plan are responsibilities of the Physical Therapist. Supervision and mentorship are required to fulfill the essential job functions.
Essential Job Function:
- Assists in assessing patients' physical aptitude, medical backgrounds, and limitations in functionality in order to devise tailored treatment plans.
- Performs therapeutic exercises and other physical therapy interventions geared towards improving patients' strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Imparts information to patients and their families regarding treatment regimens, home-based exercises, and self-monitoring skills to advance recovery progress.
- Partners with peers to develop and put into action discharge strategies and advice for ongoing medical attention.
- Keeps track of and documents patients' improvement, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions for the purpose of adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
- Engages in teamwork across departments to deliver harmonized patient care and comprehensive treatment consequences.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
Experience:
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
