Job Description
Overview:
In their role, Radiologic Technologists conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays to generate images of anatomical areas in the body for diagnostic purposes. These images are later assessed by a physician to diagnose and track diseases. Operating under immediate oversight, these professionals prepare patients for scans, adjust their positioning, oversee equipment operation, and utilize their expertise to reduce the radiation exposure for the patient.
Responsibilities:
- Abides by the instructions provided by doctors regarding the anatomical region requiring imaging scans.
- Assist the patient by walking them through the steps of the procedure and engaging with their questions to decrease their anxiety and enhance their awareness of the procedure.
- Properly places the patient and manipulates the imaging tools to the required configuration to produce clear images of distinct body regions.
- Avoids unnecessary radiation exposure for both patients and themselves. Adheres to proper procedures, including patient shielding, to ensure accuracy and dependability in diagnostic imaging services.
- Adequately records all information related to each procedure to guarantee precise patient documentation and promote efficient interaction among members of the healthcare team.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
ARRT (R) | Radiologic Technologist - DxBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare
