Job Description
The Paramedic position evaluates emergency medical procedures and offers assistance during urgent medical situations. Operating with general supervision in standard cases, this role oversees critical patient care and emergency interventions, while ensuring that reports and documentation are completed promptly.
Essential Job Function
- Performs evaluations of emergency medical systems and procedures to verify their effectiveness and compliance with established standards.
- Ensures the quality and timeliness of reports, and records related to emergency medical services to maintain accurate records.
- Handles employee questions and resolves issues that require interpreting policies, providing guidance and effective solutions.
- Coaches lower-level professionals to support their growth and development.
- Keeps up-to-date with emergency medical procedures, treatments, and technologies to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- ED/Occ Health: Required: 1 year of Paramedic experienceCarelink: Required: 3 years of EMS paramedic experience Carelink Transport positions, must have 3 years of EMS paramedic or critical care transport paramedic experience. Carelink relief paramedics must have 5 years of EMS paramedic experience & 1 year of critical care transport experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Current valid NC Paramedic certificationBLS (CPR-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS - American Red Cross or Healthcare ProviderValid Driver's License If driving a CH vehicle must have minimum 5 years as a valid licensed driver with MVR must be approved by Risk Management. Carelink: Emergency Vehicle Operator's course completed within 1 year of hire
