Job Description
The role involves developing, documenting, and upholding consistent operational procedures that transform Medical Group strategies and product directives into clear, repetitive operational methods. This position works closely with Product Management, Clinical Optimization, Education, and Operations Analytics to ensure that the workflows are scalable, feasible, and in line with the expected results. The central focus is on defining the appropriate approach for carrying out tasks, rather than concentrating on project completion or system construction. Its significance lies in reducing variations, enhancing efficiency, and supporting ongoing performance in Medical Group operations.
Essential Job Function:
The concept of Standard Work & Workflow Design involves creating protocols for tasks and optimizing the sequence of operations:
- Develop and record upcoming workflow plans that are consistent with the Medical Group's goals and intended product impacts.
- Outline the tasks, obligations, transfers, and junctures for both clinical and administrative workflows.
- Establish and uphold standard protocols, flowcharts, and operation blueprints.
Transitioning strategy to operations requires the execution of the high-level vision into practical tasks:
- Work closely with Product Managers to transform product objectives into actionable operational plans.
- Confirm that the operational procedures are conducive to meeting the benchmarks related to healthcare excellence, patient accessibility, streamlined operations, and fiscal success.
- Achieve a harmonious blend of standardized procedures and operational versatility.
Improving efficiency and ensuring continuity:
- Spot process variations, areas of inefficiency, and potential failure points.
- Cooperate with Clinical Optimization, Education, and Implementation to improve workflows through actual usage.
- Encourage continuous improvement by refining processes iteratively.
Collaboration & Enablement:
- Provide clarity to the education and enablement teams through well-defined process documentation.
- Work alongside Operations Analysts to harmonize operational procedures with performance benchmarks.
- Provide specialized knowledge in operational design for designated domains.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Industrial/Management Engineering, Operations, or a related field and or equivalent training and experience.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 5 years work experience in healthcare operations, clinical workflows, analytics, product management.
- Demonstrated experience designing workflows and standard work in clinical or operational settings.
- Strong facilitation, documentation, and analytical skills.
- A Bachelor s Degree may substitute for up to 3 years of experience.
- Experience working in ambulatory or medical group environments, preferred experience.
Licensure / Certification:
- Lean or process improvement certification preferred but not required.
