Job Description
A key responsibility of the Nursing Technician is to observe and record patient conditions in order to support the Registered Nurse effectively. This position involves offering assistance to patients in improving their mobility and ensuring their daily tasks are performed. *Candidates with ED experience are highly desired for our current openings in the MedCenters
Essential Job Function:
- Provides aid to patients in their daily living needs, which may include meal provisions, personal hygiene support, and gradual improvement in mobility to aid in their rehabilitation and treatment plan.
- Evaluation of patients' quality of life with respect to nutrition, hydration, and elimination is done to distribute resources efficiently and forecast patient needs.
- Manages patient admissions, transfers, and releases to ensure they are directed to suitable settings as per the care strategy.
- Aids in clinical tasks, such as supervising glucose levels, registering essential signs, securing electrocardiograms, utilizing constraints, and managing elimination requirements to deliver compassionate and competent care to individuals.
- Ensuring the unit's stock of supplies and medical tools is properly organized contributes to upholding a tidy and protective environment in line with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Ensures that individuals prone to falling have the proper arm bands, footwear, and visual cues in place to safeguard their physical well-being.
- Aids in documenting every clinical process, patient communication, and pharmaceutical utilization to uphold a thorough patient background.
- Demonstrates swift response to tasks assigned by registered nurses and facilitates the exchange of patient information for improved cooperation.
- Completes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: None
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
