Job Description
In the role of an Emergency Department Technician, one applies emergency care abilities to aid individuals in the ED. With moderate guidance during usual cases, this position arranges the assessment of patient needs to enhance care distribution and aids in executing holistic care blueprints, thereby playing a part in enhancing care standards in the ED.
Essential Job Function:
- Documents patient conditions and treatment plans and maintains a detailed record to ensure continuity and consistency in patient care.
- Applying knowledge of emergency protocols to support the best patient outcomes by suggesting care approaches in the ED.
- Supports medical practitioners in responding to emergencies by applying skills and knowledge to help manage urgent situations effectively.
- Operates in common emergency room scenarios with minimal oversight, utilizing analytical skills to deliver timely and quality patient care.
- Logs patient communications and treatment outlines to uphold precise and up-to-date files.
- Executes any other responsibilities as tasked.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: 6 months related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: MT | Emergency Medical Technician NAI | Nursing Assistant IBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider., Current Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Division of Facility Services and completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course with current NC certification.
