Job Description
Overview:
The LPN Hospital position involves supporting the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in delivering high-quality patient care within a hospital environment. Tasks include developing and implementing hospital-specific care plans and preparing equipment for procedures across the hospital systems under close supervision.
Responsibilities:
Facilitating the care team involves the acquisition of patient history and medical information to ensure the completeness of case documentation within hospital medical records.
Supports in the formulation and execution of care plans under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to address the needs of patients being treated in a hospital.
Guarantees the observance of Cone Health policies regarding sterile environments by applying proper techniques and precautions.
Imparts health-related information to patients and their families to facilitate comprehension of the care plan.
Contributes to handling emergencies and safety hazards by using personal protective gear and medical precautions to mitigate risks to patients.
Undertakes additional assignments as directed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
