Job Description

Overview:

The Materials Management Specialist plays a key role in managing the procurement, retrieval, acceptance, distribution, and restocking of goods to fulfill the requirements of various departments and patients. This position operates under broad oversight and takes responsibility for sustaining optimal quantities of all patient fabrics by accepting, classifying, conveying, and allocating fresh linens, overseeing linen supplies, employing linen management systems, and complying with hygiene and contamination prevention protocols. The working hours for this role are from Monday to Friday, starting at 8:30 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon.

Responsibilities:

  • Helps in managing stock levels, placing new orders, retrieving items, replenishing shelves, rearranging merchandise, and verifying the expiry dates of products to fulfill departmental requirements.
  • Examines operational and storage spaces to guarantee they are maintained in a tidy and organized manner.
  • Discontinues the use of malfunctioning equipment and materials and informs relevant departments about issues for resolution.
  • Assisting in keeping inventory data entry accurate and current by updating information and preparing any required documentation.
  • Ensures that all supply deliveries are both thorough and precise while also verifying the quality of the supplies received.
  • Assists in notifying the supervisor about equipment maintenance requirements and maintains, cleans, tags, and fixes linen processing and transportation tools to prevent any disruptions in linen services.
  • Helps in educating and acquainting fresh staff members with the department's procedures, principles, and folding methods.
  • Carries out additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 3-4 years of experience including at least 2 years of Materials Management, Inventory, or service-related experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED

Required:

Valid Driver's License (if driving a Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and motor vehicle record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management)
