Job Description
Nursing Technicians are responsible for supporting Registered Nurses by observing and documenting patient situations. Under strict supervision, these professionals offer assistance to patients in their daily activities and in improving their mobility. *We are currently seeking experienced individuals with prior ED exposure for opportunities within our MedCenters
Essential Job Function:
- Assists patients with daily living activities, such as meal assistance, personal care, and progressive mobility, to help with their rehabilitation and care plan.
- The assessment of patients' quality of life concerning nutrition, hydration, and elimination is vital for resource allocation and predicting patient requirements.
- Organizes the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients to ensure they are guided to the correct destinations as outlined in the care plan.
- Helps with clinical procedures like checking blood glucose, recording vital signs, taking EKGs, implementing restraints, and assisting with elimination needs in order to offer patients a comfortable and attentive level of care.
- Helping with the organization of unit supplies and medical equipment inventories is important to sustain a clean and safe environment in compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Verifies that the appropriate wristbands, socks, and signage are available for patients identified as being at risk of falling to maintain their physical security.
- Aids in chronicling all medical interventions, patient encounters, and medication management to uphold a detailed patient profile.
- Acknowledges and promptly acts upon assignments delegated by registered nurses while ensuring transparent sharing of patient observations for effective teamwork.
- Carries out any additional duties as needed.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: None
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
