Job Description
By observing and logging patient conditions, the Nursing Technician Float Plus 3 - Nurse Secretary Float provides support to the Registered Nurse. This position involves aiding patients in their daily tasks and facilitating their movement progressively, all while closely supervised. Flexibility is key in this role, as it requires versatility to assist in various departments as per the department's demands.
Essential Job Function:
- Helping patients with their everyday needs like eating, grooming, and improving their ability to move as part of their recovery process and care strategy.
- Examines the quality of life of patients concerning their nutritional intake, fluid intake, and bodily waste management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and forecast their future needs.
- The act of acknowledging, shifting, and releasing patients is carried out to facilitate their movement to the correct areas based on the care strategy.
- Offers assistance to patients for their elimination requirements, such as ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters, to ensure their well-being and ease.
- Aids in keeping track of unit inventories for supplies and equipment to promote a tidy and secure atmosphere following the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Verifies that patients identified as prone to falls are supplied with the necessary arm bands, socks, and displays to promote their physical security.
- Executes any other responsibilities given.
Education:
- Required: Master's degree in Speech Pathology.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or is eligible to receive it through a Clinical Fellowship Year Licensed by the North Carolina Board for Speech Pathologists and Audiologists during their Supervised Experience Year BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
