Job Description
Overview:
In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician observes and records patient states. This position involves assisting patients in increasing mobility and providing aid with daily tasks under tight supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Giving support to patients by helping them with daily life activities like dining, hygiene, and advancing their ability to move as part of the recovery and care regimen.
- Assesses the quality of life of patients concerning their dietary habits, fluid consumption, and waste elimination to assign resources appropriately and prepare for patient needs. Accepts, transfers, and releases individuals to transfer them to the proper locations aligned with the care schedule.
- Aids in clinical activities by supervising blood sugar levels, noting vital signs, conducting EKG tests, applying physical restraints, and catering to elimination needs, all to offer patients a comfortable standard of care.
- Supporting the upkeep of unit supplies and medical equipment stocks to maintain a sanitary and secure environment as per the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Confirms that individuals with a high risk of falling have the necessary arm bands, socks, and signage in place to protect them from potential harm.
- Aids in noting down all clinical treatments, patient interactions, and medication utilization for the upkeep of a thorough patient history.
- Reacting promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and exchanging patient observations to support seamless collaboration.
- Completes supplementary duties as instructed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: None
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
