Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty Coordinator delivers patient care by managing resources and providing technical support. Under close supervision, this role contributes to patient care through development, evaluation, and assistance, with an emphasis on quality improvement, efficiency, cost management, and collaborative problem-solving.
Essential Job Function
- Promotes the success of the assigned specialty by identifying opportunities to enhance quality and reduce costs.
- Examines therapeutic interventions for complex patient cases to evaluate responses to treatments and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Evaluates team performance relative to department objectives to deliver constructive feedback and guidance.
- Organizes orientation, education, and clinical development activities for the department to align employee skills with patient needs.
- Plans department schedules and manages daily staffing to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's of Science - NursingLegacy/Exception: Associates Degree in Nursing acceptable for employees in role on or before 8/12/2024.
Experience
- Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse and 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
