Overview:
The Practice Administrator manages the overall health and functions of 1-4 practices or 8-25 overall providers in the same region and or specialty group (Primary Care or Specialty). The Practice Administrator I is responsible for ensuring site leadership is in place and that the Practice is executing at target or stretch performance for a majority of true north and financial metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Improving provider template optimization, addressing productivity impediments, and increasing patient-facing time are essential for maximizing access availability and volumes, ultimately resulting in improved patient satisfaction and practice revenue.
- Maintains standard staffing levels, encourages team engagement, and empowers teams to address daily challenges and barriers, working with the Director to recruit providers and promptly resolve any provider-related issues that surface.
- Communicates with the Director and team members about provider arrangements, displaying a thorough understanding of the Resource-Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS) and its implications on payment and compensation, ultimately fostering better rapport with providers and boosting the financial health of the practice.
- Maintains adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory demands within business sectors to sustain high standards of patient care and operational proficiency.
- Supervises TNM outcomes for each department, establishes process indicators in partnership with site supervisors to gauge daily TNM progress, and promptly modifies processes and protocols to address any shortcomings in metrics, ensuring a continuous enhancement in patient services and operational efficiency.
- Drives the accomplishment of financial targets in the business sectors by routinely examining financial data, instituting corrective actions for discrepancies, overseeing proper financial procedures such as cash handling and coding, and taking ownership for revenue cycle outcomes while implementing measures to boost revenue and accounts receivable.
- Executes tasks given beyond regular duties.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate Degree, preferably in business, finance or healthcare related field OR High School Diploma with 6 years healthcare operational experience, 4 of which are in leadership and certification.
Preferred: BS in Nursing or BS/BA in Healthcare Administration
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years in medical practice total with 2 years in a practice supervisory role. Without a degree, must have 6 years healthcare operational experience, 4 of which are in healthcare management or a healthcare leadership role and certification.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
Completion of MGMA Principles Practice Management Certificate or Practice Management Institute CMOM certification within 90 days of hire. If No degree, must have CMPE or CMOM at time of hire.
