Job Description
The Chaplain Sitter offers prompt spiritual assistance and comforting aid to individuals undergoing various forms of distress, encompassing financial, emotional, spiritual, or physical difficulties.
Essential Job Function:
- Offers personalized spiritual and emotional assistance to individuals in need.
- Offers temporary comfort care to individuals lacking the means to fulfill this requirement.
- Regularly communicates and collaborates with the referring chaplain, assistant director of Spiritual Care and Counseling, and potentially the unit chaplain.
- Conveys crucial details to the nurse caring for the patient and contributes to developing the care strategy.
- Record all patient discussions and meetings promptly.
- Carries out additional responsibilities as delegated.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree. Successful completion of one unit (approximately 400 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Experience
- Required: Six months of relevant experience providing emotional and spiritual support
