Job Description
The Paramedic role reviews emergency medical systems and provides support in emergency medical situations. Working under general supervision for routine situations, this position manages critical patient care and emergency response, and ensures timeliness of reports and documentation.
Essential Job Function:
- Examines emergency medical systems and protocols to confirm adherence to approved standards and proper functionality.
- Confirms the accuracy and timely upkeep of reports and records concerning emergency medical services for precise documentation.
- Manages employee inquiries and resolves issues by interpreting policies to provide guidance and resolutions.
- Coaches mentor entry-level staff to aid them in their professional development and advancement within the organization.
- Demonstrates expertise in emergency medical protocols, therapies, and innovations to ensure effective care for patients.
- Executes any other tasks as instructed.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- ED/Occ Health: Required: 1 year of Paramedic experience Carelink.
- Required: 3 years of EMS paramedic experience Carelink Transport positions, must have 3 years of EMS paramedic or critical care transport paramedic experience. Carelink relief paramedics must have 5 years of EMS paramedic experience & 1 year of critical care transport experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current valid NC Paramedic certification BLS (CPR-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS). American Red Cross or Healthcare Provider, Valid Driver's License. If driving a CH vehicle must have minimum 5 years as a valid licensed driver with MVR must be approved by Risk Management. Emergency Vehicle Operator's course completed within 1 year of hire.
