Job Description
Overview:
A Pharmacy Resident PGY1 is a qualified pharmacist who has earned a PharmD degree and is receiving advanced training in a pharmacy residency program, working closely with experienced pharmacists to enhance their practical skills in pharmacy practice. The primary responsibilities of a Pharmacy Resident PGY1 include delivering standard pharmaceutical care to patients, such as managing medication therapy, providing drug-related information, and offering counseling to patients. Moreover, the individual engages in clinical rotations, research endeavors, and educational initiatives as part of their development as a proficient pharmacist. This role significantly contributes to improving patient results and honing clinical proficiencies for future pharmacy practice.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates patient medication records and medical backgrounds to detect potential conflicts between drugs, allergies, and other medication-related concerns.
Collaborates alongside healthcare teams in creating and executing personalized medication therapy plans for individual patients to guarantee the safety and efficacy of drug treatments.
Provides information to both patients and healthcare workers regarding the use of medications, covering correct dosing, possible adverse reactions, and interactions with other drugs.
Conducts studies to enhance pharmacy practice and enhance patient care results through research endeavors.
Observes how patients react to medication treatment, such as evaluating both positive results and negative side effects, and suggests necessary modifications.
Effectively records patient's medication histories, interventions, and results to maintain seamless care and enhance communication among healthcare professionals.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

Registered Pharmacist in NC
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
