Job Description
Candidates with varying levels of experience, including recent graduates, are encouraged to apply! The Physical Therapist II evaluates the health of patients, creates customized care plans, and administers therapeutic techniques to improve functional capabilities. This role is skilled at effectively caring for all patients within their practice area and performing all essential physical therapy duties independently. The individual facilitates communication with members of interdisciplinary teams, treats familiar patients confidently, and acts as an advocate for their patients and coworkers. This position involves working autonomously in the primary setting and may require supervision in complex situations and face difficulties with coverage in other departments.
Essential Job Function:
- Provides evaluation and care for all medical conditions and challenging patients.
- Analyzes patients' physical capabilities, medical records, and limitations in functionality meticulously to establish custom treatment strategies.
- Provides therapeutic exercises and other interventions in physical therapy aimed at enhancing patients' range of motion and overall physical well-being.
- Informs patients and their loved ones about therapy strategies, physical activities to do at home, and methods for self-care in order to enhance the effectiveness of the recovery process.
- Engages in teamwork to develop and carry out discharge plans and advice for ongoing support.
- Tracks and logs the development of patients, the effectiveness of treatments, and reactions to interventions for the purpose of making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Collaborates across various departments to guarantee aligned patient care and holistic treatment effectiveness.
- Helps in orienting and educating new personnel, displaying a persistent effort to boost the efficiency and competency of team members.
- Executes any other responsibilities as allotted.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
