Job Description
In the realm of endoscopic procedures, the Clinic Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) 2 plays a pivotal role in aiding the physician through specimen preparation and monitoring. This position is tasked with the vital responsibility of preparing the equipment and accessories required for smooth execution of the endoscopic examination.
Essential Job Function:
- Maintains precise records and delivers medication to manage the distribution of narcotics and sedatives, aiming to provide patients with an appropriate level of sedation during endoscopic procedures.
- Enhances efficiency by examining and interpreting data related to continual quality improvement.
- Facilitates access to educational resources for families of patients, such as referrals and consultations, in order to develop a comprehensive care plan following the procedure.
- Responsibilities include supporting the physician in monitoring patients, taking tissue samples, extracting polyps, and preparing tissue specimens to acquire patient data for medical assessment.
- Delivers intravenous fluids in adherence to infection control standards in endoscopic surgeries to maintain patients' fluid and medication intake during the procedures.
- Keeps a protected and organized space by dealing with and solving safety concerns to ensure patient health.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education
- Required: Associate's DegreePreferred: Bachelor's Degree
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse and 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
