Job Description
Serving as the strategic financial leader of the CHMG and VBC Divisions, the CFO is tasked with planning, developing, and executing financial and managerial accounting activities specific to the operations of these divisions within Cone Health. In addition to overseeing these crucial financial functions, the CFO is expected to actively engage in both strategic and operational projects across the Cone Health organization. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate innovative leadership qualities, show strategic foresight, exhibit strong analytical capabilities and financial expertise, and embrace a collaborative approach to elevate the performance and mission of the divisions.
Essential Job Function:
- Engages with the System CFO, Division Executive leaders, and other stakeholders on a regular basis to handle operational concerns, including but not limited to risk management, financial modeling, physician compensation, and the financial results of population health programs. Provides valuable financial recommendations and assists in devising strategic financial plans to drive growth and explore new market prospects effectively.
- Manages a team of finance professionals responsible for executing a range of financial and accounting tasks in support of physician and VBC functions, such as general accounting, managerial accounting, reimbursement and revenue accounting, as well as VBC accounting and reporting functions.
- Tasked with integrating Division tasks with various financial services activities across Cone Health to guarantee the achievement of the overall objectives and aspirations of the entire Financial Services sector within the organization.
- Involved in the design and delivery of educational initiatives within the accounting curriculum for Cone Health, as well as supporting the teaching of these programs to the organization's accounting personnel to guarantee the implementation of acquired knowledge and tools.
- Aids the CFO on different tasks and projects as necessary.
- Contributes to specific committees and teams within the company to propel essential strategies or to craft and supervise regulations.
- Shares financial outcomes and details with different forums and groups throughout the enterprise.
- Carry out any other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Education
- Required: Master s degree in business, finance, accounting, health administration, or related field; with bachelor s degree. Or, bachelor s degree in accounting with CPA or CMA.
Experience
- Required: Ten or more years of progressive experience in related work, including physician group and/or value-based care organization, with management duties and responsibility.
- Preferred: Accounting and management related duties and responsibilities in the healthcare field or multi-provider healthcare system setting, payer entity, or accountable care organization.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Valid Driver's license
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
